Special City Commission Meeting — Thursday, June 17, 1999
1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Samson at 6:51 p.m. with the following officials
present: Mayor David Samson
Vice Mayor Irving Turetsky
Commissioner Lila Kauffman
Commissioner Connie Morrow
City Manager James DiPietro
City Attorney Lynn M. Dannheisser
City Clerk Richard Brown-Morilla
Commissioner Danny Iglesias was absent.
2. RESOLUTIONS:
2A. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING
AN AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES BETWEEN THE STATE OF FLORIDA,
DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES AND THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH WITH RESPECT TO THE PROPOSED GOVERNMENT CENTER ON
SUNNY ISLES BOULEVARD ON THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS PROVIDED IN
THE CONTRACT ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE
MANAGER TO EXECUTE SUCH CONTRACT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE. [City Clerk's Note: Four(4) documents were submitted at the meeting and filed
with the records: 1. Memo dated June 15, 1999 from City Attorney Lynn Dannheisser to
Vice Mayor Turetsky; 2. References for Department of Management Services; 3. Memo
dated June 16, 1999 from City Attorney Lynn Dannheisser to City Commission; 4. Letter
dated June 17, 1999 from John Shepherd and Kobi Karp.]
ACTION: City Clerk Brown-Morilla read the title. City Manager DiPietro introduced the
item. City Attorney Dannheisser noted that there were revisions to Article 5 that had been
distributed.
Public Speakers: none
Commissioner Kauffman moved and Commissioner Morrow seconded a motion to
approve the proposal with the revision to Article 5. Resolution No. 99-141 was
adopted by a roll call vote of 4-0-1 in favor.
Vote: Commissioner Iglesias absent
Commissioner Kauffman yes
Commissioner Morrow yes
Vice-Mayor Turetsky yes
Mayor Samson yes

3. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was recessed at 6:56 p.m. with the regular City Commission meeting to follow.
