A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 2014-2347 APPOINTING MEMBERS
TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD FOR A
TWO-YEAR TERM; ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION
OF JORGE CAMARAZA, AND CONFIRMING THE
APPOINTMENT OF STEVE TRATTNER, AND ARI
STEIGER AS CHAIRPERSON; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission created the Historic Preservation Board through
Ordinance No. 2004-197 adopted on April 15, 2004, providing for standards and review for the
preservation of historical properties within the City, and through Ordinance No. 2004-214
adopted on September 22, 2004 adding two additional members to the Board; and
WHEREAS, the Board provides recommendations to the City Commission regarding the
designation of historic properties within the boundaries of the City; and
WHEREAS, on December 18, 2014 via Resolution No. 2014-2347 the City Commission
appointed/reappointed members to the Historic Preservation Board for a two-year term; and
WHEREAS, Board member and Chairperson Jorge Camaraza has resigned, and the
Mayor and City Commission desire to accept his resignation from the Board, and confirm the
appointment of Steve Trattner as a member to fill the vacancy on the Historic Preservation
Board, and the appointment of Ari Steiger as Chairperson.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Accept Resignation and Confirm Appointments to the Historic Preservation Board.
The City Commission hereby accepts the resignation from Board member Jorge Camaraza, and
confirms the appointment of Steve Trattner to the Board, and the appointment of Ari Steiger as
Chairperson (individual appointments attached as Exhibit "A").
Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.

Amend Resolution No.2014-2347 Appointing Members
to the Historic Preservation Board by Accepting
RE: Resignations from Jorge Camaraza and Loretta de
Vries,and Confirming the Appointments of Steve
Trattner and Dione Del Monico
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached
Resolution amending Resolution No. 2014-2347 appointing members
to the Historic Preservation Board by acceping the resignation of
Jorge Camaraza and Loretta de Vries, and confirming the
appointments of Steve Trattner and Dione Del Monico.
REASONS:
On December 18, 2014 via Resolution No. 2014-2347, the City
Commission appointed/reappointed members to the Historic
Preservation Board for a two-year term. Recently Jorge Camaraza,
who has moved from Sunny Isles Beach, and Loretta de Vries, who
had been ill, both resigned from the Board. Mayor Scholl appointed
Steve Trattner, and Vice Mayor Gatto appointed Dione Del Monico as
Board members to fill those vacancies for the remainder of the two-
year terms.
