As a testament to our commitment to our clients, ORDA has been serving • as the Landscape Architectural Consultant to the City of Aventura since its inception in 1995 ® performing tasks such as site plan review, permit review and inspections, park design, street- scape design, irrigation design, maintenance specifications and schedules, landscape studies, • tree surveys, maintenance monitoring including analysis and evaluation of existing landscape • conditions and recommendations for improvements. • Most recently, ORDA provided landscape architecture services as part of the private-public • partnership between the City of Doral and the Codina Development Co. for 'Doral City Park' • located in the heart of downtown Doral's new city center. ORDA understands the importance • of preserving and creating community spaces and public realm areas as part of a municipality's efforts to create livable cities. A preliminary estimate of Probable Construction Cost at the conceptual • phase will help the City establish a construction budget if one has not already been estab- lished. This system of continuity has resulted in an impressive record of successfully completed projects by ORDA. • Quality, cost and schedule control are paramount throughout the duration of a project so, pro- ® ject teams are structured for optimum communication between clients and designers. All key personnel have extensive experience working on municipal projects similar in nature to the • potential projects for the City of Sunny Isles Beach. We continue to receive high marks from • municipalities throughout Miami-Dade County. This combined experience insures an under- O standing and appreciation for the challenges to be faced with municipal projects, as well as, a background in resolution of each of the challenges. • • The organizational structure at ORDA has been developed to offer hands on project manage- ment from seasoned landscape architects that have extensive experience in working with mu- • nicipalities. Our quality control team and an uncompromising insistence on performance in- O sures that all projects will be handled in a consistent, professional, thorough and timely man- • ner. ORDA's management approach is specifically reflective of an attitude toward completing ® the tasks defined in any given scope of work. • The ORDA team understands that quality work achieved only through Total Quality Manage- • ment. Each member of the project team understands the overall goals and objectives of any project and their specific role in achieving them. ORDA trains each employee to consciously 0 assure that their work achieves project requirements, is free of defects, and meets the proles- • sional standards expected by the City of Sunny Isles Beach. Bill O'Leary, a veteran in his field, O will assure that total quality control is achieved for all landscape architectural aspects and Kevin Richards in all construction related aspects of the projects assigned. • Project Approach • O'Leary Richards Designs' success working with municipalities is built on years of experience listening closely to clients. Because every site offers a unique set of challenges and opportuni- • ties, ORDA tailors its design approach according to the owner's program, scope, timeline and • budget while drawing on experience gained over 40 years of successfully completed projects. O ORDA has the ability to meet desired timelines and deadlines as evidenced in past perform- ance. To have a successful project will require close coordination with the City. 0 • All projects are undertaken with the aim of creating innovative, sustainable environments by O implementing the best design ideals in real world situations. It is important that we create environments that represent the identity of our clients as well. Our synergistic design and • management approach makes us the primary choice for public projects. Landscape Architec- • ture encompasses analysis, planning, design, management and stewardship of the natural and ® built environments. ORDA believes nature should be allowed to permeate the built environ- ment, seeing nature in the City as a necessity rather than a luxury. Due to the harsh environ- • ment within public rights-of-way beachfront communities, the landscape design should con- • sider the selection of hardy and low maintenance vegetation. It is our philosophy to cre- ate enduring landscapes that will last for generations. The City will benefit from ORDA's • knowledge of sustainable principles as it has several projects that have achieved LEED certifi- • cation. ® ORDA's knowledge of urban design and public spaces is vast and varied - as one of South Flor- • ida's longest running landscape architecture and planning firms with thousands of acres of • green space and hundreds of miles of FDOT streetscapes in our portfolio, we are experts in the design and craft of vibrant public spaces. Throughout our 40 year partnerships with local • architects, engineers, horticulturists, and municipalities we have been able to create success- • ful, urban spaces for South Florida communities. Our most recent projects include the design • of three community parks for the Town of Golden Beach, an urban plaza and civic green for the Village of Palmetto Bay and a city center park for the City of Doral. Our goal is to design ® spaces that function, spaces that are memorable and spaces that cities are proud to call their ® own. • As urban designers and landscape architects, each of ORDA's designs for public realm pro- • jects rest upon the building blocks of successful urban spaces. Context, scale, form and func- • tion create the architectural framework of each of our designs and are balanced with a need ® for long-term sustainability, a project's budget, beauty and aesthetics. ORDA's approach for place making begins with broad brush, comprehensive investigations, where regional and local • context are evaluated alongside site specific conditions, budgetary constraints, a client's de- • sires and a communities' needs. Through site analysis, stakeholder interviews and listening • .sessions with clients and stakeholder groups from the community, ORDA strives to weave compelling solutions to create city center parks, public streetscapes and civic arenas • that are environmentally and fiscally sustainable and stand as exceptional examples of public • outdoor spaces. As designers passionate about detail and aesthetics, we strive for beauty in • each of our projects and design with an intimate understanding that the long-term sustainabil- ity of every component must be addressed and accounted for. Our measure of excellence is ® the long term satisfaction of our clients and the achievement of the principles we share as a • firm. • •• 0• • sk-y cri Q.2 ® E - , '.`}':r4 '` ;.° " g ;fr __ HOME TEAM WSt!122-4 it -1 + 'a Ii 0 sn.sr: 0.1.15 w ® y' J, Y . yw® a ; ` ` ! 1ttFP5 ,• tai r w s aranxn y J. i'•;£ J• rl :`/JJnJ.ltz.r f!•k 'k=-, • Waterways Blvd. Houston's Restaurant NE 190th Street Founders Park O'LEARY RICHARDS DESIGN ASSOCIATES,Inc. 30 e • Sunny Isles Beach RFQ No. 12-04-01 Section 5: References 0 Landscape Architecture 0 0 Section 5: References O • Client: City of Aventura Mr. Robert Sherman, Director of Community Development O 19200 W.
