HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2016-2535 RESOLUTION NO. 2016-2535 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING ARTWORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH RESOLUTION NO. 14-Z-148 FOR THE MARRIOTT PROJECT LOCATED AT 17700 COLLINS AVENUE;. PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 104 of the City Code, all private development projects shall contain an artwork component on site or contribute to the City's art funds; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 14-Z-148, adopted on November 20, 2014, the City Commission approved the Marriott Project with the condition that the developer complies with Section 104 of the City Code; and WHEREAS,the developer of the Marriot Project has provided the required deposit amount of$34,000 for the artwork component to comply with Section 104 of the City Code; and WHEREAS, in lieu of providing further monetary contribution the Project's developer is providing an artwork component for the Marriott Project, attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve the artwork component for the Project. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The foregoing recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by reference as if they are fully set forth herein. Section 2. Approval of Artwork. Pursuant to Section 104 of the City Code, the City Commission hereby approved the artwork component for the Marriott Project located at 17700 Collins Avenue, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 3. Authority of the City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 4. Effective Date.
