A RESOLUTION OF THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RECOMMENDING TO THE
CITY COMMISSION OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, THE ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CITY'S ADOPTED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO
PROVIDE FOR THE STATE MANDATED REQUIREMENTS FOR A
TEN-YEAR WATER SUPPLY FACILITIES WORK PLAN BY
AMENDING THE INFRASTRUCTURE ELEMENT, THE
CONSERVATION ELEMENT, THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL
COORDINATION ELEMENT, AND BY UPDATING THE WATER
SUPPLY FACILITIES WORK PLAN SUB-ELEMENT, AND THE
REQUIRED TRANSMITTAL TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF
ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS. the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida was incorporated on June 17, 1997;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach initially adopted its first Water Supply Facility
Plan pursuant to Ordinance No. 2009-330 adopted on July 16, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Section 163.3177(6)(c) Florida Statutes, required coordination of the local
Comprehensive Plan with the South Florida Water Management District's regional water supply
plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 163.3177(6)(c) Florida Statutes, requires local governments to update
its 10-Year Water Supply Work Plan and to amend their Comprehensive Plans within eighteen
(18) months after the Water Management District approves a Regional Water Supply Plan or its
update; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has carefully prepared amendments to its
Comprehensive Plan pursuant to Section 163.3177(6)(c), Florida Statutes, in order to adopt
amendments or revisions in conformance with the adopted Work Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission serves as the Local Planning Agency ("LPA"), and
whereas the LPA is required to review amendments to the City's Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, on January 21, 2016, the City Commission reviewed the proposed
amendment, held an advertised public hearing, provided for participation by the public in the
process; and
WHEREAS. the LPA has determined that it is in the best interest of the City and its
residents to recommend approval of the Report-Based Amendments to the City of Sunny Isles Beach
Comprehensive Plan, and recommendations and comments to be transmitted to the Department of
Economic Opportunity and review agencies, for their review.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Amendments to the Comprehensive Plan. The Local Planning_ Agency
hereby approves the Report-Based Amendments to the City of Sunny Isles Beach Comprehensive
Plan, and recommendations and comments for the State mandated requirements for a Ten-Year
Water Supply Facilities Work Plan updates of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Comprehensive Plan.
Section 2. Transmittal of Proposed Comprehensive Plan. The Local Planning Agency hereby
recommends transmittal of the 10-Year Water Supply updates alone with amendments to the current
Comprehensive Plan, to the State Department of Economic Opportunity.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effe in ediately upon adoption.
