A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING IN-KIND SUPPORT TO
THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF ISRAEL FOR THE "ISRAEL 68"
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION" EVENT ON MAY 15, 2016 FOR
THE USE OF TWO (2) GENERATORS AND CITY PERSONNEL, IN AN
ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED
EIGHTY-THREE DOLLARS AND SIXTY CENTS ($1,583.60);
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION: PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
.WHEREAS, the Florida-Israel Friendship League with the Consulate General of Israel
are presenting the "Israel 68th Independence Day Celebration" event at Haulover Park on
Sunday, May 15. 2016; and
WHEREAS, the Consulate General of Israel has requested the use of two (2) generators
and City personnel; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is dedicated to supporting this event with an
in-kind donation of free use of two (2) generators, as well as providing City personnel from the
Public Works Department, as well as Police Officers to provide a motorcycle and Marine Patrol
to lead the Boat Parade, in an estimated amount of One Thousand Five Hundred Eighty-Three
Dollars and Sixty Cents ($1,583.60).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the
donation of in-kind support to the Consulate General of Israel for the "Israel 68th Independence
Day Celebration" event on Sunday, May 15. 2016 for free use of two (2) generators and City
personnel assisting in this event, in an estimated amount of One Thousand Five Hundred Eighty-
Three Dollars and Sixty Cents ($1,583.60).
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

RE: In-Kind Donation to the Israeli Consulate for the Annual
Israeli Independence Day Event
RECOMMENDATION:
This item is presented for your consideration.
REASONS:
The Israeli Consulate hosts an annual Israeli Independence Day event at
Haulover Park each May.This year's event will be on May 15,2016 and will
include a motorcycle parade.a boat parade.an internationally recognized
band and other activities.As the City has a Sister City relationship with
Netanva,Israel.Sunny Isles Beach has supported this event with in-kind
services in the past.The event producers are requesting the use of
following City resources again this year: Police support for the Boat Parade.
Police support for the Motorcycle parade.use of the large generator and a
small generator as well as the personnel to load in and out and operate it
during the event. In-kind support for these items total S1,150 for Police and
$433.60 for generators.fuel and personnel for a grand total In-Kind donation
of 51.583.60.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for these In-Kind services will come from the personnel and
operating budgets of the Police Department ($1,150.00) and the
Public Works Department($433.60.)
