Home My WebLink AboutReso 2016-2549 RESOLUTION NO. 2016- 7,-5149 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SIXTEEN (16) POLICE VEHICLES, TWO (2) POLICE MOTCYCLES, AND ALL ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT, MARKINGS AND LIGHTING, IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTY-FIVE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SEVENTY-NINE DOLLARS AND SIXTY-SIX CENTS ($585,979.66), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department rotates a portion of the Police Fleet annually to assure the safety and reliability of its equipment to our Police Officers; and WHEREAS, the Police Department now needs to purchase the following sixteen (16) Police vehicles, ten (10) Ford Interceptor SUV's, one (1) Ford Interceptor Sedan, two (2) Ford F- 150's, two (2) Chevy Tahoe's, and one (1) Dodge Durango through the Florida Sheriffs Association's Contract Bid #15-23-0904, and two Harley Davidson Road King Motorcycles from Chester's Harley Davidson through a competitive bid process, and all associated equipment, markings and lighting will be purchased from various vendors as a result of a competitive bid process, Florida Sheriffs Association's Contract, and/or a piggyback contract, in a total amount not to exceed Five Hundred Eighty-Five Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-Nine Dollars and Sixty-Six Cents ($585,979.66), attached hereto as Exhibit"A"; and WHEREAS, staff determined that the above price is reasonable and customary for said purchase and recommends that the City Commission approve the purchase. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Authorizing the Purchase of Police Vehicles. The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase of sixteen (16) Police Vehicles, two (2) Harley Davidson Road King Motorcycles, and all associated equipment, markings and emergency lightings, in a total amount not to exceed Five Hundred Eighty-Five Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-Nine Dollars and Sixty-Six Cents ($585,979.66), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. R2015-Purchase of Police Vehicles Page 1 of 2 Section 3.
