A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO SIGN OR RENEW ALL REQUIRED CONTRACTS,
AGREEMENTS, AND PURCHASE ORDERS THAT AFFECT THE
HEALTH, SAFETY, OR WELFARE OF THE CITY, DURING THE
SUMMER RECESS PERIOD FROM THE LAST CITY COMMISSION
MEETING IN JULY 2016 THROUGH THE FIRST REGULAR
COMMISSION MEETING IN SEPTEMBER 2016, SUBJECT TO
AFTER-THE-FACT RATIFICATION AT THE SEPTEMBER 15, 2016
CITY COMMISSION MEETING; REQUIRING LEGAL REVIEW BY
THE CITY ATTORNEY FOR SAID CONTRACTS AND
AGREEMENTS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach City Commission is not scheduled to meet between
July 21, 2016 and the next regular meeting September 15, 2016; and
WHEREAS, there may be new or existing contracts that require approval during the time
period between the last City Commission meeting in July 2016 and the first regular meeting in
September 2016; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to assign certain powers to the City Manager
to enable him to sign all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders that affect the
health, safety, or welfare of the City, during the time period between the last City Commission
meeting in July 2016 and the first regular meeting in September 2016, and requiring legal review
by the City Attorney for said contracts and agreements prior to execution by the City Manager;
and
WHEREAS, the City Manager will report back to the City Commission at the first
regular City Commission meeting on September 15, 2016, seeking after-the-fact ratification of
any actions relating to the aforestated authorization.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. Authority of City Manager and City Attorney. The City Manager is hereby
authorized to sign or renew all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders that affect the
health, safety, or welfare of the City during the summer recess period, from the last City
Commission meeting in July 2016 through the first regular City Commission meeting in
September 2016, subject to after-the-fact ratification at the September 15, 2016 City Commission
meeting, and requiring legal review by the City Attorney for said contracts and agreements prior
to execution by the City Manager.

Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Approve
RE: " Required Contracts,Agreements, and Purchase Orders
During the Summer Recess
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached
Resolution.
REASONS:
The City Commission is not scheduled to meet between July 21, 2016
and the next regular meeting of September 15, 2016, and there may be
new or existing contracts that require approval during that time period.
This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to sign or renew all
required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders that affect the
health, safety, or welfare of the City during the summer recess period,
and it requires legal review by the City Attorney for said contracts and
agreements.
The City Manager will report back to the City Commission at the first
regular City Commission meeting of September 15, 2016, seeking
after-the-fact ratification.
