RESOLUTION NO. 97-1
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH THAT METROPOLITAN
DADE COUNTY PLANNING, DEVELOPMENT AND
REGULATION DEPARTMENT, THE COMMUNITY
ZONING APPEALS BOARD; AND THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSION TO REFER FINAL DECISION-
MAKING ON PENDING PLANNING AND ZONING
MATTERS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH TO SUNNY ISLES BEACH
COMMISSION IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS CHARTER;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on June 16, 1997, the City of Sunny Isles Beach became incorporated; and
WHEREAS, there are pending zoning applications pertaining to property located within
the corporate limits of the City of Sunny Isles Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Commission for the City of Sunny Isles Beach has now been constituted;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
Metropolitan Dade County Planning, Development and Regulation
Department, the Community Zoning Appeals Board, and the Board of County Commissioners
is hereby instructed by the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida to refer
final decision-making on any pending planning and zoning matters within the corporate limits
of the City of Sunny Isles Beach to the Sunny Isles Beach City Commission in accordance with
its Charter. Pursuant to interlocal agreement, however, it is understood that the Department of
Planning, Development and Regulation will continue to accept, process, retain all fees and issue
recommendations for all applications pertaining to property within the corporate jurisdiction of
the City of Sunny Isles Beach.

Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
