RESOLUTION NO. 97.11
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACB,F'LORIDA TOAUTBORIZE
A SEAL CONTEST WITH A PRIZE OF 5100.00, AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, at the August 21, 1997 meeting of the City Commission of City of Sunny Isles
Beach, the Commission decided, after hearing from the public, that it would be appropriate to
conduct a contest for the selection of seal; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to give all residents and others an opportunity to
design such a seal,
KNOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS;
Section 1, The rules of the contest are hereby adopted and provided in Exhibit" A", which
is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2.
This Resolution shall be effective upon option, this 11th day of September,

EXHIBIT A
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH
SEAL CONTEST
This contest is to design an official seal for the City of Sunny Isles Beach.
CONTEST DATES:
1.
Beginning: September 15, 1997
Deadline: October 15, 1997
RULES:
1. All residents of the City of Sunny Isles Beach are eligible to make one entry, no matter
what age they are.
2. All entries must be submitted on white paper sized 8th x 11 and contain a label with
name, address, and contact telephone number on the reverse side.
3. The words "Sunny Isles Beach" must be visibly displayed within each entry.
4. All entries must include the color "blue", the adopted City color.
5. It is suggested that the words "Florida" and the year of incorporation "1997" be visibly
displayed within each entry.

Deadline: 10/15/97
7. All entries are the property of the City of Sunny Isles Beach.
JUDGING:
1. Each Commission member will appoint a resident to select one entry each from all of the
submitted entries as fmalists,
2. These fmalists will be on public display for one week to allow comments from the
residents of the city. These comments will be tallied and discussed at the Commission
meeting of November 9, 1997.
3. Viewing locations are City Bulletin Boards at Publix, 18830 Collins Avenue, Rascal
House 17191 Collins Avenue, Colonial Bank 18170 Collins Avenue, and the Sunny Isles
Beach News (Aventura News).
4. The Sunny Isles Beach Commission will make the decision from the fuialists at the
Commission meeting of November 9, 1997.
