RESOLUTION NO. 97-9 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA PROVIDING FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH ACCOUNTS WITH QUALIFIED PUBLIC DEPOSITORY; PROVIDING FOR A DEPOSIT OF FUNDS; PROVIDING FOR NECESSARY SIGNATORIES ON SUCH ACCOUNTS; PROVIDING FOR ISSUANCE OF CHECKS AND PAYMENTS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Sunny Isles Beach to establish accounts with a qualified public depository for the purpose of the deposit and subsequent expenditure of municipal funds of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, including but not limited to, the initial expenditures authorized by Section 8.6 of the City Charter. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, that Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to establish accounts with a financial institution qualified pursuant to Chapter 280, Florida Statutes, to serve as a depository of public funds. Section 2. That the Mayor and each Commissioner shall serve as authorized signatories for the accounts established pursuant to Section 1 of this Resolution, provided, however, that no check or withdrawal shall be issued or made unless signed by both the Mayor or Vice Mayor and one other Commissioner. Section 3. That prior to the initial deposit into such accounts, the City shall provide notice to the State Treasurer as required by Section 280.17 (4), F. S. Section 4. That once a City Manager and staff are retained by the City, the City MIAMI :F:\DoCS\LMD\RE\64831.1 :9/11/97 (9:55am) 1 Commission may prescribe further conditions and requirements concerning the deposit of funds, issuance of checks or withdrawal of funds. Section 5. That the City Commission finds that it is impracticable to obtain the above- referenced interim banking services on a competitive bid basis and therefore authorizes establishment of this interim account without competitive bid, pending solicitation of long-term banking proposals via a request for proposals. Section 6. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 21st DAY OF AUGUST, 1997.
