RESOLUTION NO. 98-28
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
REIMBURSE EMPLOYEES FOR THE USE OF THEIR PERSONAL
CAR WIllLE CONDUCTING CITY BUSINESS.
WHEREAS, from time to time it is necessary for City employees to use their own cars for City
governmental purposes, and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to establish policy guidelines to authorize the City Manager to reimburse
employees for the City use of private vehicles, and
WHEREAS, the reimbursement will apply only to those employees who do not receive a car
allowance.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
The City Manager is authorized to expend funds to reimburse employees for the use of their
personal cars while on City business, and may promulgate additional rules and regulations as
may be needed.
Section 2.
The rate of compensation per mile will be consistent with Internal Revenue Service employee
business expense reimbursement regulations (31 ~ cents per mile for 1997).
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
