RESOLUTION NO. 98- 3~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
EXPRESSING THE CITY'S OPPOSITION TO THE FLORIDA
LEGISLA TURE'S HOUSE BILL 3291 RELATING TO THE CREATION OF
THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS RIGHTS-OF-WAY ACT; PROVIDING
FOR TRANSMITTAL; PROVIDING FOR AN KFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, members of the Florida House of Representatives have filed House Bill 3291
relating to the creation of the Telecommunications Rights-of-Way Act; and
WHEREAS, the Florida League of Cities has expressed concerns regarding passage of the
Bill and its impact on municipal rights-of-way;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Commission hereby expresses its opposition to the adoption of House
Bill 3291 relating to the creation of the Telecommunications Rights-of-Way Act.
Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the
City's representatives in the Florida Legislature, legislative leaders and the Governor of the State of
Florida.
Section 3.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
