A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, GRANTING THE CITY MANAGER
AUTHORITY TO ENTER INTO SERVICE AGREEMENTS BY AND
BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AND PROPERTY
OWNER(S) WHO MAY PRIVATELY OWN STREETS, ALLEYS AND
ROADS AND REQUEST SAME TO BE POLICED BY THE CITY'S POLICE
DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, within the corporate limits of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, there are several
streets, alleys and roads that are privately owned by the property owners located thereon; and
WHEREAS, those private property owners have requested or in the future may request that
the City exercise its police powers to provide additional police and security services on those private
roads, alleys and streets;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. For good and valuable consideration, the City Manager is hereby granted authority
to enter into service agreements for the policing and provision of security services
on such private roads, streets and alleys to residents and homeowners that own said
streets and alleys and to allow the City's Police Department to perform such services
that in a manner prescribed by the City Manager.
Section 2. The Commission authorizes the term of those agreements to be for 12-month periods
which may be extended within the discretion of the City Manager.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission empower the City Manager to
enter into agreements with property owners who may privately own streets,
alleys, and road and request same to be policed by the city's police
department.
REASONS:
Within the corporate limits of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, there are
several streets, alleys, and roadways that are privately owned by the property
owners located thereon; and those private property owners have requested or
in the future may request, that the city exercise it's police powers to provide
additional police services on those private road, alleys, and streets.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
There are currently six known areas of private properry that have no special
enforcement agreement with the city and they are as follows:
1- Golden Gate Estates and Marine replat blks 1-3 (149-65) Golden Gate Est a & Marina
blk 1-3047-32)
2- Galahad Dade tract A-C (PB 92-16)
All of tract 3 lying w of state road AIA, except the N 100' South 100' E 600' of tract 3,
Tatum Ocean Park (PB 10, Page 64) and all that portion of Government Lot 3 of
Fractional Sec. 11, Twp. 52 S. Rge 42 E which lies E of E right line of the Intra-Coastal
Waterway (PB 37, Page 4), and all that portion of the original Florida East Coast Canal,
Tatum's Sub. (PB 10, Page 64) hying between Lots 2 and 3 of Tatum's Sub. And
Government Lot 3 of Fractional Section 11-52-42 which is bounded on the W by the
E right-of-way line of the Intra-Coastal Waterway (PB 37,Page 4)

5- Amended Poinciana Island tract A-C (111-68)
6- Winston Towers Master Condominium Association Inc., Plat 10 Page 64.
