A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
APPLY FOR, RECEIVE AND EXPEND FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $6,956.00 FROM THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission that the City Manager apply for grants
that will benefit the community; and
WHEREAS, this Commission desires to accomplish the purposes outlined in the
accompanying memorandum attached hereto as Exhibit "A";
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for the Miami -Dade County
Department of Human Resources for funds in the approximate amount of $6,956.00
and to receive and expend any and all monies awarded and to receive and expend any
additional funds that might become available during the term of the grant, to file and
execute any necessary amendments to the application for and on behalf on the City
of Sunny Isles Beach and to exercise any amendment, modification, renewal,
cancellation and termination clauses of any contracts and agreements on the behalf
of the City of Sunny Isles Beach related to said grant.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

REASONS:
The City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has been given a
preliminary approval of grants funds totaling $6,956.00 in order to
purchase equipment and community crime prevention tools along with
furnish overtime monies for a crime prevention officer to attend and
organize crime prevention meetings within the City of Sunny Isles Beach.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
These meetings will result in citizens of Sunny Isles Beach becoming more
familiar with it's police department, react and response to safety hazards,
and prepare for hurricane evacuation.
