RESOLUTION NO. 99-135
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE FLORIDA
LEAGUE OF CITIES FOR THE COLLECTION OF ANY DELINQUENT
LICENSE TAXES DUE FROM INSURANCE COMPANIES WITH POLICY
HOLDERS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS; ATTACHED HERETO AS
EXHIBIT "A"; PROVIDING FOR EXECUTION BY THE CITY MANAGER;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Occupational Licensing Official has exhausted all reasonable
enforcement efforts to collect said taxes from any potentially delinquent insurance companies,
WHEREAS, the City and or the Licensing Official lacks the resources to economically
effect the collection of any other potentially delinquent taxes due from insurance companies and the
Florida League of Cities has such resources and has successfully collected such delinquent taxes for
numerous other Florida Cities,
WHEREAS, the agreement limits any liability for said collections on the part of the City
and regulates such liability as well as all collection activity including related administrative and
clerical work in totality to the Florida league of Cities,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. ApJ>roval of Agreement. The agreement attached hereto as Exhibit "A", be and the same is
hereby approved.
2. Execution by City Mana~er. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute said
agreement.
3, Effective Date. This Resolution becomes effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of April, 1999.
