A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 99-143
WHICH CALLED FOR A GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 1999, AND PROVIDED FOR CITY
COMMISSION DESIGNATION OF TWO REGISTERED VOTERS WHO
SHALL SERVE ON THE CANVASSING BOARD FOR SAID GENERAL
ELECTION; BY REPLACING ONE OF THE TWO REGISTERED
VOTERS WHO SHALL SERVE ON THE CANVASSING BOARD FOR
SAID GENERAL ELECTION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, City Ordinance No. 99-65, provides for the City Commission to designate two
registered voters who shall serve with the City Clerk, City Manager, and the City Attorney as the
Canvassing Board; and
WHEREAS, City Resolution No. 99-143, designated Manny Pine and Norman Edelcup to be
the two registered voters who shall serve on the Canvassing Board; and
WHEREAS, Norman Edelcup is unable to serve on the Canvassing Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Resolution No. 99-143 is hereby amended.
Section 2. Designation Of Two Registered Voters To Serve On The Canvassing Board
nee The City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach hereby designate: Manny Pine and
43o`c, S two registered voters, to serve with the City Clerk, City
Manager, and the City Attorney as the City of Sunny Isles Beach's Canvassing Board for the
September 14, 1999, General Election, and if necessary, the October 12, 1999 run-off election.
Section 3. Effective Date.
This resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

SUBJECT: RESOLUTION DESIGNATING TWO REGISTERED VOTERS TO SERVE
ON THE CANVASSING BOARD FOR THE UPCOMING ELECTION
RECOMMENDATION:
It is requested that the City Commission amend Resolution No. 99-143 by approving the
proposed resolution designating a different "registered voter" who shall serve alone with Mr.
Manny Pine and with the City Clerk, Citv Manager. and Citv Attomev as the Canvassing Board
for the upcoming General elections in September.
REASONS:
Mgr. Norman Edelcup, one of the two registered voters who was selected on June 17. 1999 by the
Citv Commission to serve on the Canvassing Board is unable to serve in that capacity. This
proposed resolution amends Resolution No. 99-143 by designating a different "registered voter."
Pursuant to Citv Ordinance No. 99-65. the City Commission must designate the two registered
voters to serve on the Canvassing Board of specific elections. The two registered voters who will
serve on the Canvassing Board should be willing to remain neutral during the upcoming campaign
process.
