A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, SELECTING THE FIRM OF ALBERT R. PEREZ
ASSOCIATES TO PERFORM CERTAIN LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES TO CREATE A
CONCEPTUAL MASTER PLAN FOR THE RECREATIONAL
PARK AT 181sT DRIVE AND NORTH BAY ROAD IN THE
AMOUNT OF $18,400 IN FEES FOR TASKS I THROUGH IV,
WITH A $1,000 LIMITATION FOR REIMBURSABLE
EXPENSES, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ATTACHED AS EXHIBIT
"A"; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has a need for landscape architectural services
the recreational park at 181 st Drive and North Bay Road; and
WHEREAS, the City is able to award a contract based upon the Miami-Dade County pre-
qualified list of landscape architects, and the City Manager has negotiated an acceptable agreement
with a firm from that list; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
That the firm of Albert R. Perez Associates, is hereby selected to perform certain
landscape architectural services to create the conceptual master plan for the
recreational park at 181st Drive and North Bay Road, in the amount of$18,400 in
fees for Tasks I through IV, with a $1,000 limitation for reimbursable expenses, and
not including Task V (Construction Documents Phase) as specified in the Agreement
attached hereto as "Exhibit A,"
Section 2.
The Agreement attached hereto as "Exhibit A" is hereby approved and the City
Manager is authorized to execute said Agreement.
Section 3.
The Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

Dear Ms. Dumas:
It was a pleasure meeting with you and the City staff regarding the above referenced
project. As per your request following find our proposal covering the services to be
performed stemming from our discussions.
A. TASK 1- Research/Data Gatherina
a. Scope of Services
1. Data collection of all available information Le. aerials, surveys,
demographic data, infrastructure, maintenance and security issues, etc.
2. Visit to the park to photograph and ascertain existing conditions.
3. One meeting with City staff to reiterate goals and aspirations and
contemplate construction cost.
4. Prepare exhibits for Public Workshop and submit to City for review.
b. Fee: $5,300.00
B. TASK" - Public Workshop
a. Scope of Services
1. One public workshop to obtain citizens' input and try to develop
consensus among stakeholders.
2. Prepare narrative covering salient issues and conclusions.
3. One meeting with City staff.
b. Fee: $2,200.00.

C. TASK III - Conceotual Desion
a. Scope of Services
1. Develop a maximum of two conceptual site plans and associated
probable costs addressing the input _ from the City's staff and that
obtained at the Task" Workshop.
2. The conceptual site plans will be presented to the- City for review and
establishment of a "best case scenario" plan for presentation to the
public.
b. Fee: $7,800.00.
D. TASK IV - Public Workshoo
a. Scope of Services
1. Present selected conceptual plan to the community and prepare
narrative outlining salient issues and conclusions stemming from the
Workshop.
2. Revise plan, if required, and present it again to ensure consensus.
3. One presentation of the conceptual final plan to the City Commission for
their review
b. Fee: $3,100.00.
E. TASK V - Construction Documents Phase
a. Scope of Services
1. Prepare plans, specifications and statement of probable cost in
accordance with approved conceptual plan.
2. Submit plans at 80% and 100% completion to City for their review and
approval.
3. Advertise and bidding Phase.
4. Award of bid.
5. Construction Phase services.
b. Fee: This task is not included as part of our fee structure as we do not have
a clear defined scope of work at the present time.
TOTAL FEE
The total fee to provide the services described above for Task I through Task IV will
be $18,400.00.

REIMBURSABLE EXPENSES
All expenses incurred in the interest of the project including but not limited to printing,
except for our office's use; courier services; photographs; mounting of boards; filing
and processing of plans will be reimbursed to our office at cost, which sum shall be
capped at $1,000.00. City shall not be responsible for any sum above this amount.
METHOD OF PAYMENT
The consultant shall invoice the City on a monthly basis as a percentage of the work
completed to that point.
SERVICES NOT INCLUDED
Any services not included above such as any architectural and/or engineering
services that might be requirecf by the project.
CLIENT'S RESPONSIBILITY
The City will be responsible for contacting concerned parties, arranging all required
meetings and providing all existing data including but not limited to City's Standards,
programmatic and planning criteria, aerials, surveys, as-built drawings, Cadd files and
any other documentation relevant to the project.
