RESOLUTION NO. 2000- 2-0 S-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF
OF POLICE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 932.7055, F.S.
(1997) TO EXPEND $59,100 FOR THE PURPOSES AS SET FORTH
HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has an active and growing community
policing unit that is seeking to protect the health and welfare of residents ofthe City; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police requests permission from the City Commission to use
Forfeiture Funds from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund and certifies that the request complies
with the provisions of Florida Statutes S932.7055(4)(b); and
WHEREAS, the Police Department intends to use the Forfeiture Funds for community
policing projects as required by Florida Statutes S932.7055(4)(c)(3).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Expenditure of forfeiture monies. Based on the attached certification, the Chief of
Police is hereby authorized to spend $ 59,100 from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund forfeiture
monies to be utilized in the following manner:
A. $21,796 for a 2000 Ford Explorer from Duval Ford.
B. $18,389 for additional police equipment and features i.e., striping lightbar,
siren, etc., a K-9 and K-9 accessories, and K-9 handlers training and
equipment.
C. $17,490 for a 2000 Ford Taurus Stationwagon.
D. $1,475 for additional police equipment i.e., siren, headlights, rear strobe
flashers, etc.
Section 2.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effec .
