RESOLUTION NO. 2000-~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING AFTER-THE-FACT
AUTHORIZATION TO THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE ONE
SHUTTLE BUS FROM MICHAEL FOX INTERNATIONAL, INC., FOR A
TOTAL COST OF $93,500; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, smce the mtroductIon of the CIty'S shuttle bus servIces on February 23, 1999, there
has been a marked mcrease m ndershIp, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolutlon No 99-151, on July 15, 1999 the CIty CommISSIon
approved the purchase of three shuttle buses from Metrotrans Corporatlon for a total cost of
$196,953 00, provIdmg funds were avaIlable,
WHEREAS, the CIty prevIOusly purchased two shuttle buses from Metrotrans Corporatlon, and
subsequently Metrotrans CorporatIOn declared bankruptcy pnor to delIvenng the thIrd bus to the City,
and
WHEREAS, the CIty Manager has purchased at public auctIOn of Metrotrans CorporatIOn's
liqUidated assets, a 19 passenger bus from MIchael Fox Internatlonal, Inc at a total cost of$93,500, and
WHEREAS, the CIty CommIssIon deSIres to Improve the transportatIOn capabIlItles ofthe City
m an effort to better serve the needs of the cItlzens of Sunny Isles Beach,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Sectlon I The City Manager IS hereby provIded after-the- fact authonzatlon to purchase one shuttle
bus from MIchael Fox Internatlonal, Inc , for a total cost of$93,500 00, accordmg to the specificatIOns
attached hereto as ExhIbIt "A"
SectIOn 2
ThIS resolutlon shall be effectlve upon adoptlon
