RESOLUTION NO. 2000- 2-( f(
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING CURRENT AND
AFTER-THE-FACT AUTHORIZATION TO THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT TO APPROPRIATE AND SPEND FUNDS FROM THE
LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Law Enforcement Trust Fund was established pursuant to FS 934.704; and
WHEREAS, monies in the Law Enforcement Trust Fund may only be expended for law
enforcernentpurposes; and
WHEREAS, the previous City Manager had agreed to purchase summer uniforms for the
Police Department as part of a conflict resolution meeting; and
WHEREAS, the previous City Manager had agreed to allow for summer enforcement
programs involving special enforcement units on the beach, equipment purchases, and related
expenses for those programs as part of a conflict resolution meeting.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Police Department is authorized to appropriate and spend $52,000 from the Law
Enforcement Trust Fund for the following:
a. Expenditures in the amount of $12,000 for costs associated with
summer uniforms.
b. Expenditures occurring in reference to the police wave
runners in the amount of$17,000 are ratified and approved after the fact, as of
the date ofthe expenditure.
c. Expenditures in the amount of $23,000 for costs associated with uniform
services needs for summer enforcement programs.
Section 2.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of April, 2000.
