A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING AFTER- THE-FACT
AUTHORIZATION TO THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE
POLICE RADIO'S FROM COMMUNICATIONS INTERNATIONAL
INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,660.40; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Police Department has grown from it's original planned sworn officers; and
WHEREAS, in order to maintain communications and ensure the safety of those officers and the
citizens of this City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has previously authorized the Police Department to purchase radios
with accessories from Communication International Inc., based upon the Miami Dade County Vendor Bid List,
and such radios were purchased; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department requires the purchase offive additional radios with accessories as
capital equipment; and
WHEREAS, in August of 1999, the prior City Manager and Chief of Police approved the purchase for
which the department now requests an after-the-fact approval.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization. The prior City Manager is hereby provided after-the-fact authorization to have
purchased the above-mentioned radio equipment that includes radios, batteries, chargers, antennas and
microphones for the amount of $10,660.40 from Communications Int'! Inc, to be paid out of the Law
Enforcement Trust Fund.
Section 2.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall be effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of May 2000.
