A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE FIRST
AMENDMENT TO SERIES 98 CHALLENGE GRANT
CONTRACT ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A" TO
INCREASE THE PREVIOUS AMOUNT TO AN AMOUNT
PAYABLE TO THE CITY NOT TO EXCEED $2,174,433.00;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR,
RECEIVE AND EXPEND SAID MONIES; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. R-16-98 passed and adopted on October 6, 1998, by the
Board of County Commissioners authorizing a contract between the City of Sunny Isles Beach
and the County for the rendering ofthe Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond Projects; and
WHEREAS, an additional amount of money of approximately $106,333.00 has been
made available for the City of Sunny Isles Beach which now must be accepted and received by
the City:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Contract. The first amendment to the Series 98 Challenge Grant
Contract to increase the previous amount to a total amount payable not to exceed $2,174,433.00,
attached hereto as Exhibit "A" be, and the same, is hereby approved.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply
for, receive and expend said monies received pursuant to the contract.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

FIRST AMENDMENT TO SERIES 98 CHALLENGE GRANT CONTRACT
THIS AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT, entered into this
day of
, 200_, by and between Miami-Dade County, a
political subdivision of the State of Florida (County) through its Office of Safe
Neighborhood Parks (Office), located at 111 N.W. 1st Street, Suite 1740, Miami,.
FL 33128, and City of Sunny Isles Beach having offices at 17070 Collins Avenue.

WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. R-1160-98, passed and adopted on October 6,
1998, the Board of County Commissioners authorized a Contract between the

WHEREAS, both Office of Safe Neighborhood Parks and City of Sunny Isles

are desirous of amending said Contract to accomplish the purposes

NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants herein Contained
and other good and valuable consideration, the parties hereto agree as follows:
1 :- Section IV, Amount Payable is amended to read as follows:
The maximum amount payable for the project(s) rendered under this
Agreement, shall not exceed J2.174.433 unless otherwise amended.
