RESOLUTION NO. 2000- ~4 \
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY TO FUND THE CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION
OF A REGIONAL PARK AT THE MUNISPORT LANDFILL
SITE IN THE CITY OF NORTH MIAMI; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach supports the City of North Miami's goal of
providing additional recreational opportunities for the citizens of Miami-Dade County; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach believe
that the public of Miami-Dade County and the entire South Florida region should benefit from
receiving recreational facilities for citizens of all ages; and
WHEREAS, in order to realize this public benefit, the Mayor and City Commission of
the City of Sunny Isles Beach express support for the creation of a regional park at the
Munisport Landfill site in the City of North Miami.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach urge Miami-
Dade County to fund the construction and operation of a regional park at the Munisport Landfill
site in the City of North Miami.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall distribute a copy of this Resolution to the City of North Miami,
to the Mayor and Commission of Miami-Dade County, and to the Miami-Dade County Manager.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of June, 2000.
