RESOLUTION NO. 2000 - ~ 50
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING A LEASE
FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT TRANSPORTATION
FOR PARCELS SITUATED IN AND AROUND THE
PROPOSED CITY HALL SITE DESCRIBED IN
COMPOSITE EXHIBIT "A"; REPRESENTING THE
UTILIZATION OF THE PROPOSED PROPERTY WILL BE
FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES NOT INCONSISTENT WITH
TRANSPORTATION PURPOSES; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City is planning to build its City Hall on land situated to the east
and to the west of the parcels owned by the Florida Department of Transportation which
are the subject of this resolution ("FDOT Property"); and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to use the FDOT Property for, among other things,
surface parking and green space surrounding the proposed City Hall; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to use the parcels in a manner consistent with its
transportation purposes and the City agrees that the parcels will not be used for the
purpose of producing income or for profit;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. Incorporation of Recitals.

The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein
2. Lease Request. The City of Sunny Isles Beach respectfully requests the
Florida Department of Transportation to lease the property described in attached
Composite Exhibit "A" ("FDOT Property") for no monetary consideration.
2. Public Purpose. The City represents that the FDOT Property shall be used
for public purposes, including but not limited to, surface parking, green space, and pump
house storage, which purposes are not inconsistent with transportation purposes.
3. Effective Date.

South line of said Lot 16C, which is coincidental with the North Right of
Way line of SONNY ISLES OCEAN BEACH BOULEVARD. a distance of 111.10 feet

minutes 18 seconds West along the West line of said Lot 16C a distance of
2.35 feet; thence run North 89 degrees 56 minutes 35 seconds East, a

100.06 feet to a point on the Bast line of said Lot 16; thence run South
