A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE
UTILIZATION OF FUNDS FROM THE PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT BUDGET TO PURCHASE OF A NEW VEHICLE
FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER AND/OR HIS DESIGNEE TO NEGOTIATE A
CONTRACT, NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTEEN THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($17,000.00), FOR PURCHASE OF SAID VEHICLE;
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE
ANY AND ALL ACTION AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE PURCHASE OF SAID VEHICLE; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in February 2000, the Police Department furnished a van to the Public Works
Department with the mutual agreement that the Public Works Department would replace said van by
providing the funds necessary for the Police Department to purchase a replacement vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department currently desires to purchase the promised vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to authorize the City Manager and/or his designee
to negotiate a contract for purchase of said vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission further authorizes the City Manager to execute the
contract and to do all things necessary to effectuate purchase of said vehicle;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authority to Use Funds. The Police Department is hereby authorized to utilize funds
from the Public Works Department budget to purchase a replacement vehicle.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager and/or his designee are hereby
authorized to negotiate a contract, in an amount not to exceed Seventeen Thousand Dollars
($17,000.00), for the purchase of a new vehicle for the Police Department. The City Manager is
further authorized to execute the contract, provided the contract is approved as to form and legal
sufficiency by the City Attorney, and to do all other things necessary to effectuate purchase of said
vehicle.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This resolution shall be effective upon adoption.
