HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2000-254 RESOLUTION NO. 2000- ~ 54 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE CONCEPTUAL PLAN PREPARED BY ALBERT R. PEREZ AND ASSOCIATES, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A", FOR THE CITY PARK LOCATED AT NORTH BAY ROAD AND 181 ST DRIVE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PROCEED WITH THE DESIGN AND BID PROCESS FOR SAID PARK; PROVIDING FOR AN APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FOR THAT PURPOSE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City owns 2.0 acres of undeveloped park land at North Bay Drive and 181 st Drive' and , WHEREAS, the City wishes to develop the park land, green space, and provide recreational activities at that site; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has previously reviewed and commented on conceptual park plans submitted by Albert R. Perez and Associates. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Conceptual Park Plan. Conceptual park plans submitted by Albert R. Perez and Associates for the City park located at North Bay Road and 181 st Drive, attached hereto as exhibit "A", be, and the same is hereby approved. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to proceed with the design and bid process for the City par~d to appropriate funds for those purposes. Section 3. Effective Date. This resolution will become effective upon adoption. Probable Project Construction Costs Site preparation - Demolition, clearing, grubbing, tree transplanting Earthwork (Assumed 2' of fill) Gates, fencing and retaining walls Peripheral walks, bollards and textured pavements Concrete curb and gutter Asphalt paving Drainage structures and hydrant 1 - Multipurpose court with lights LIghting for multi-use open area Site lighting (38 - 12' high luminaires) Playground, curbing and safety surface Planting (Trees and shrubs) Sodding Irrigation Benches, picnic tables, BBO grilles and litter receptacles Bike raCks, one drinking fountain, flagpoles and slgnage A one story recreation building of approx. 3,100 s.f. of covered area and 1,000 s.f. ofterrace area. FF ofthe building is assumed to be around elevation 7.0. Submit statement of probable costs, colored site plan, architectural plans and elevations and outline specifications. Submit 4 copies of all the above documentation in black and white for review by the City. Construction documents Phase. Plans. speclncatlons and statement of probable costs as required by the project. Submission of above at 50% for review by the City. Submission of the above at 90% for review and comments by the City. Submission of 100% Construction Documents. Submission of 4 sets of documents at each submittal. Permitting Process Bidding Phase. Advertise for bidding. Answer RFI and Issue addenda if required. Review and approval of all required Shop Drawings, samples and manufacturer's catalogs and required tests. Review and answer contractor's RFI's. Site observations and reports on same. It Is assumed that the City will have a qualified inspector reviewing the work on a dally basis. The consultant and/or his sub-consultants will visit the site weekly to review and ascertain the quality, progress, and confonnance to construction documents and review requisition for payments. Fee OUf proposed fee for described services will be two hundred eighty thousand five hundred dollars and no cents ($280,500.00). Additional services will be billed at an hourly rate as follows: Principal Landscape Architect Engineer Architect Technician Clerical $ 100.00/hr. $ 75.00/hr. $ 75.00/hr. $ 75.00Ihr. $ 50.001hr $ 25.00/hr.
