RESOLUTION NO. 2000- A.~ ~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, AWARDING A BID TO ZABATT, INC., IN THE
AMOUNT OF $17,375.00, FOR THE PURCHASE AND
INSTALLATION OF AN EMERGENCY GENERATOR FOR
THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND CITY HALL;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE,
EXECUTE AND DO ALL OTHER THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE A CONTRACT; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is a coastal area subject to catastrophic weather
and other conditions that can render it without electricity; and
WHEREAS, the purchase and installation of a generator will provide emergency electrical
power to the City's Police Department and administrative offices during weather emergencies and as
such the City would be in compliance with State and Federal regulations; and
WHEREAS, staff has evaluated the bids received and recommends that the bid be awarded
to Zabatt, Inc.;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Award of Bid. Zabatt, Inc. is hereby awarded a bid for the purchase and installation
of an emergency generator.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager and/or his designee are hereby
authorized to negotiate and execute a contract, in an amount not to exceed Seventeen Thousand
Three Hundred Seventy Five Dollars ($17,375.00), for the purchase and installation of an emergency
generator for the Police Department and City Hall administrative offices, provided the contract is
approved as to form and legal sufficiency by the City Attorney.
Section 3.
Effective Date. The Resolution shall take effect immediate
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of August, 2000.
