A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING
THE DONATION OF OUTDATED CITY OF SUNNY ISLES
BEACH CELLULAR TELEPHONES TO SAFE SPACE, A
NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT AIDS AND ASSISTS
BATTERED WOMEN; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Safe Space is a non-profit organization that provides shelter and other
assistance to women who are victims of domestic violence; and
WHEREAS, emergency telephone service is vital to women who are victims of domestic
violence; and
WHEREAS, Safe Space is attempting to provide emergency telephone service by supplying
donated cellular telephones to its clients; and
WHEREAS, the City has several cellular telephones that are outdated and do not conform to
our current communications system that it wishes to donate to Safe Space.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Acceptance of Donation. The donation of certain cellular telephones listed on the
attached Exhibit "A" to Safe Space Organization is hereby approved by the City Commission.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution is effective upon passage.
