RESOLUTION NO. 2000- ~t6 '3
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE ROTATION OF
SPECIAL MASTERS FOR CODE ENFORCEMENT HEARINGS;
PROVIDING FOR A EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on November 18, 1999, the City Commission approved the process of
scheduling Special Masters to hear Administrative Appeals; and
WHEREAS, the Code Enforcement Officers have also advised that the number of Code
Enforcement hearings will increase due to expiring amnesty and compliance periods granted to correct
violations; and
WHEREAS, prior to this meeting, the City Commission also approved the appointment of
two additional Special Masters, thereby making four Special Masters available to serve the City; and
WHEREAS, while the City Commission by motion indicated an order preference for the
utilization of Special Masters, with the increasing number of upcoming hearings, and in order to
maintain the appearance of, as well as guarantee impartiality on the part of City Staff for the citizens of
the City of Sunny Isles Beach, the Commission is hereby requested to automatically rotate the
assignment of Special Masters;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. It is hereby directed that the City Manager, and the Code Enforcement Division
automatically rotate the Special Masters for Code Enforcement hearings from the ratified
roster.
2. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
