HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2001-350 RESOLUTION NO. 2001- 3 5D A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH TENTATIVE AD VALOREM TAX MILLAGE LEVY RATE AT 2.650 MILLS PER ONE THOUSAND ($1,000) DOLLARS OF TAXABLE ASSESSED VALUE WHICH IS 12.958 PERCENT GREATER THAN THE "ROLLED BACK" RATE OF 2.346 MILLS, FOR FISCAL YEAR 200112002; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Property Appraiser of Miami-Dade County, Florida, served upon the City of Sunny Isles Beach a "Certification of2001 Taxable Value"; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 200.065, F.S., the City of Sunny Isles Beach shall furnish the County Property Appraiser, the tentative millage rate, and the date, time and place at which public hearings will be held to consider the proposed millage rate and tentative budget; and WHEREAS, the Commission, by motion, agrees to establish the tentative millage rate at 2.650 mills per one thousand; and WHEREAS, the Commission must first establish a tentative millage rate prior to consideration of adoption of a proposed budget; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The tentative millage rate is hereby established as 2.650 per One Thousand ($1000) Dollars of assessed property value in the City of Sunny Isles Beach. The millage reflected is 12.958% greater than the "rolled back" rate of 2.346 mills, for Fiscal Year 2001/2002. Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED on this 31 st day of July, 2001.
