RESOLUTION NO. 2001- 3~~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, APPROVING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH
AND MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, ATTACHED HERETO AS
EXHIBIT "A", FOR THE ALLOCATION OF DISABLED
PERMIT PARKING FINES; AUTHORIZATION FOR MAYOR
TO EXECUTE THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 316.1967, Florida Statutes, and Section 30-447, Code of Miami-Dade
County, authorizes the charging of fines for misuse of specially marked parking spaces for people
with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County proposes to distribute said fines under the provisions of
Section 30-447 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, by entering into an Interlocal Agreement with the County, the allocation ofthe
disabled parking fine monies shall be used to provide funds to improve accessibility and equal
opportunity to qualified physically disabled persons and to provide funds to conduct public
awareness programs concerning physically disabled persons.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. Approval of Contract. The Interlocal Agreement, by and between the City of Sunny
Isles Beach and Miami-Dade County, for allocation of disabled permit parking fines, attached hereto
respectively as Exhibit "A", be, and the same, is hereby approved.
Section 2. Authorization of Mayor. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said agreement
and to do all other things necessary to effectuate same.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective Up' n adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of September, 2001.
