RESOLUTION NO. 2001-3~1-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, SETTING FORTH THE METHOD BY
WHICH THE CITY MANAGER MAY DISPOSE OF SURPLUS
PROPERTY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, from time to time the City has the need to dispose of surplus property; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with AGO 98-04, the Manner of Disposing Surplus Property
is within the discretion of the City to act in its best interests;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Manager is hereby granted the authority to dispose of real property by
informal sealed bids or municipal auction as he deems appropriate, provided that if
surplus property is valued less than $1000 the City Manager may dispose of that
property within his sole discretion, in any manner he deems appropriate.
2. This resolution will become effective upon adoption.

DISPOSAL OF SURPLUS PROPERTY
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing a process
for which the City Manager may dispose of surplus property.
REASONS
As the City is getting older, some of our vehicles and equipment beginning to get old. It
becomes necessary to have a procedure to properly and fairly dispose of such surplus equipment
and vehicles. Therefore, we seek authority for the City Manager to be able to dispose of surplus
property by informal sealed bids or municipal auction, or for items valued under $1,000 by
appropriate means.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
In accordance with Attorney General Opinion 98-04, the manner of disposing surplus property is
within the discretion of the City to act in its best interests.
