A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE
HAULOVER PARK GRAND PLAN DATED AUGUST, 2001; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in or about the Fall of 1999, in consultation with surrounding municipalities,
users of Haulover Park, concessionaires (such as Kelly Fishing Boat) and other concerned citizens,
the Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreations Planning Department held two large, publicly
advertised meetings, two subsequent publicly advertised workshops and continuing meetings of
mayors and managers of surrounding cities and any interested parties; and
WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreations Planning Department had
developed a plan which incorporates many compromises to address concerns of surrounding
municipalities, users, and others; and
WHEREAS, Senator Margolis wishes to secure support from the surrounding municipalities
to encourage the adoption of this plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. Support for Haulover Park Grand Plan: The City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles
Beach expresses its support of the Haulover Grand Plan, dated August, 2001, and encourages
Miami-Dade County to proceed with its implementation.
2. Effective Date: This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
