A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE AN APPLICATION FOR ELIGIBILITY TO RECEIVE
FEDERAL SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE UNITED STATES
DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES, BUREAU OF
FEDERAL PROPERTY ASSISTANCE; PROVIDING THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT THE AUTHORITY TO REQUEST FROM THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES,
AND TO RECEIVE AS A DONATION A 1983 27-FOOT "FOUNTAIN"
CENTER CONSOLE BOAT WITH TWIN MERCURY 200 HP
OUTBOARD MOTORS AND DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has a very active and efficient Police
Department that is seeking to protect the health, safety and welfare of its residents and visitors;
and
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Management Services, Bureau of Federal
Property Assistance, has a program that will allow the City of Sunny Isles Beach to request
ownership of surplus Federal property; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department's Marine Patrol Unit is
currently utilizing a 1983 27-foot "Fountain" Center Console Boat with Twin Mercury 200 HP
Outboard Motors on loan from the U.S. Department of Customs; and
WHEREAS, any property to be liquidated or donated through the GSA of the
Department of Management Services must have a signed contractual agreement between the
Bureau and the receiving agency; and
WHEREAS, entering into such an agreement will allow the City to request ownership of
the 1983 27-foot "Fountain" Center Console Boat with Twin Mercury 200 HP Outboard Motors.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization of the Mayor. The Mayor is hereby ~uthorized to execute the
Application for Eligibility to Receive Federal Surplus Property with the Department of
Management Services, Bureau of Federal Property Assistance.
Section 2. Authorization ofthe Police Department. The City of Sunny Isles Beach
Police Department is hereby authorized to request from the United States Department of
Management Services, and to receive as a donation a 1983 27-foot "Fountain" Center Console
Boat with Twin Mercury 200 HP Outboard Motors.

Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1 ih day of January, 2002.
