A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO SUBMIT TWO PROJECTS (TRAFFIC AND
PEDESTRIAN CALMING ON SUNNY ISLES BOULEVARD [SR 826]
PROJECT, AND THE CENTRAL ISLAND DRAINAGE AND PAVING
PROJECT), TO THE METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION
(MPO) TO OBTAIN FUNDING; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE
THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) provides funding to
governmental entities for improvement projects; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to submit two projects to MPO for funding consideration
of Sunny Isles Boulevard (SR 826) Traffic and Pedestrian Calming Project, and the Central
Island (174th Street to 183rd Street west of Collins Avenue) Drainage and Paving Project, for
the benefit of its residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, obtaining MPO funding would assist the City to realize completion of
these projects; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach IS desirous of submitting the
aforementioned projects for MPO funding consideration.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authority to Submit Projects to MPO. The City Manager is authorized to submit
two projects to the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), to obtain funding for the
Sunny Isles Boulevard (SR 826) Traffic and Pedestrian Calming Project, and the Central
Island (174th Street to 183rd Street west of Collins Avenue) Drainage and Paving Project, for
the benefit of its residents and visitors.
Section 2. Further Authorization of the City Manager. The City Manager is authorized to do
all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of June 2002.
