A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES
BEACH PROPOSED AD VALOREM TAX MILLAGE LEVY
RATE AT 3.35 MILLS PER ONE THOUSAND ($1,000)
DOLLARS OF TAXABLE ASSESSED VALUE WHICH IS
41 % GREATER THAN THE "ROLLED BACK" RATE OF 2.37
MILLS, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002/2003; SCHEDULING
SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS ON THURSDAY,
SEPTEMBER 5, 2002 AND THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26,
2002, AT 7:30 P.M., IN THE CITY HALL COMMISSION
CHAMBERS, 17070 COLLINS A VENUE, SUITE 250, FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2002/2003 BUDGET HEARINGS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Property Appraiser of Miami-Dade County, Florida, served upon the City of
Sunny Isles Beach a "Certification of 2002 Taxable Value"; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 200.065, FS" the City of Sunny Isles Beach shall furnish to
the County Property Appraiser the proposed millage rate, and the date, time and place at which
public hearings will be held to consider the proposed millage rate and tentative budget; and
WHEREAS, the Commission, by motion, agrees to establish the proposed millage rate at
3.35 mills per one thousand; and
WHEREAS, the Commission must first establish a proposed millage rate prior to
consideration of adoption of a tentative budget; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission for the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to schedule
Special City Commission meetings on Thursday, September 5, 2002, and Thursday, September
26, 2002, at 7 :30 p.m., in the City Hall Commission Chambers, located at 17070 Collins A venue,
Suite 250, for Fiscal Year 200212003 budget hearings.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Establish the Proposed Millage Rate. The proposed millage rate is hereby established
as 3.35 per One Thousand ($1,000) Dollars of assessed property value in the City of Sunny Isles
Beach. The proposed millage reflected is 41 % greater than the "rolled back" rate of 2.37 mills, for
Fiscal Year 200212003.
Section 2. Set Date, Time and Place for Budget Hearings. The Budget Hearings for Fiscal Year
200212003 are hereby scheduled on Thursday, September 5, 2002, and Thursday, September 26,

2002, at 7:30 p.m., in the City Hall Commission Chambers, located at 17070 Collins A venue, Suite
250, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida.
Section 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on this ISIh day of July, 2002.
