RESOLUTION NO. 2002-~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
ACCEPTING, AFTER-THE-FACT, THE DONATION OF A FLAMINGO
STATUE FROM MAYOR DAVID SAMSON AND MARION SAMSON;
PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO
ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is in the process of beautifying the parks
located in the City; and
WHEREAS, Mayor David Samson and Marion Samson have purchased a Flamingo
statue with their own funds to assist the City in its effort to beautify the parks; and
WHEREAS, the City has the authority to accept donations as a non-profit municipal
corporation; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to place the Flamingo statue at a visible area within the
Oceanfront Park;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Accepting Donation. The City Commission hereby accepts the donation of the
Flamingo statue made by Mayor David Samson and Marion Samson.
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager has the authority to do all things
necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution is effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of July, 2002.
