A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A CHANGE ORDER
TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES
BEACH AND LUKES' LANDSCAPING, INC. ("LUKES"'), IN THE
AMOUNT OF SEVENTY-THREE THOUSAND, NINETY-TWO
DOLLARS AND SIXTY CENTS ($73,092.60), ATTACHED HERETO AS
EXHIBIT "A", IN ACCORDANCE WITH RESOLUTIONS NO. 2001-377
AND NO. 2001-390, FOR LANDSCAPING AND IRRIGATION OF THE
SUNNY ISLES BOULEVARD (SR826) NOSECONE BEAUTIFICATION
PROJECT; PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER WITH THE
AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE
TmS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is desirous of landscaping and irrigating the
ltlosecone on Sunny Isles Beach Boulevard under the flyover; and
WHEREAS, completing the landscape and irrigation portion of the Sunny Isles
Boulevard (SR826) Nosecone Beautification Project will be a major step to the continued
beautification of the Sunny Isles Boulevard entrance to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City adopted Resolution No. 2001-377 authorizing an agreement with
Lukes' Landscaping, Inc., for interim landscaping maintenance and Resolution No. 2001-390
awarding Lukes' a six-year agreement to landscape and maintain the parks, medians and rights-
IOf-way; and
WHEREAS, Lukes' Landscaping, Inc., are under contract with the City and will
complete the landscaping and irrigation project at the nosecone on Sunny Isles Beach Boulevard
under the flyover in an amount of $73,092.60, which will be done as a change order to Lukes'
existing maintenance and landscaping contract.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
;Section 1. Approval of Change Order to Agreement. Change Order to Agreement with
Lukes' Landscaping, Inc., in accordance with Resolutions No. 2001-377 and No. 2001-390, for
landscaping the nosecone on Sunny Isles Beach Boulevard under the flyover, in an amount of
$73,092.60, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", be and the same, is hereby approved.
.Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
.Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of September, 2002.
