A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPOINTING JANE A. HINES, AS ACTING CITY CLERK, UNTIL THE
CITY COMMISION DIRECTS OTHERWISE; AND FURTHER
PROVIDING JANE A. HINES WITH THE ABILITY TO RETURN TO
HER FORMER POSITION AS DEPUTY CITY CLERK AT SUCH TIME
AS A PERMANENT CITY CLERK IS APPOINTED; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to fill the position of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, Deputy City Clerk Jane A. Hines has demonstrated the ability to perform
the duties of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to appoint Jane A. Hines as the Acting City
Clerk.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Appointment of Acting City Clerk. The City Commission hereby appoints Jane A.
Hines as the Acting City Clerk until the City Commission directs otherwise.
Section 2. Former Position. If Jane A. Hines is not elected as the permanent City Clerk, she
should be permitted to return to her former position as Deputy City Clerk.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution is effective upon adoption

REASONS
Jane Hines has served in the capacity of the Deputy City Clerk and has demonstrated the ability
to perform the duties of the City Clerk.
