A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE CITY TO
PARTNER WITH THE NORTH MIAMI BEACH OPTIMIST LITTLE
LEAGUE BASEBALL PROGRAM BY DONATING $1,000.00 TO THEIR
OPERATING FUND; PROVIDING FOR THE CITY MANAGER TO DO
ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is committed to providing recreational
activities to the young children in this community; and
WHEREAS, the City has formed a partnership over the years with North Miami Beach
Optimist Little League Baseball Program to provide baseball to the children in this community;
WHEREAS, the partnership between the City and the Optimist League is mutually
beneficial.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Partnership. The City Commission hereby approves the partnership
between the City and North Miami Beach Optimist Little league.
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Commission directs the City Manager to do
all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution, which include but not limited to donating
$1,000.00 to the Optimist League.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

PARTNERSHIP WITH NORTH NLAIMI BEACH OPTIMIST LITTLE
LEAGUE BASEBALL PROGRAM
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution to commit to partner
with the North Miami B each Optimist Little League baseball program by donating 51,000.00
from the Police Department forfeiture funds.
REASONS
As all of you know, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is committed to providing recreational
activities to the young children in this community. At the present time, the City is not in a
position to offer a Little League baseball program to its residents. As such, the City has partnered
over t he years w ith t he N orth M iami B each O ptimist t o p rovide Little League b aseball t a i is
residents.
Please note that the North Miami Beach Optimist Little League offers their program to residents
of Sunny Isles Beach as well as Golden Beach, Aventura, and North Miami Beach. It is a quality
program that follows the guidelines set by Little League Baseball's national organization. It is a
non - profit organization that relies on donations, sponsorships, and fundraising events to help
cover the expenses of league fees, uniforms, equipment, coaches, and referees. By providing the
S1,000.00 donation to be a partner of their program, we will assist in providing the opportunity
for a baseball program to the youth of Sunny Isles Beach.
