RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 523
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF
HISTORICAL ARTIFACT OF "HORSES AND CARRIAGE" FROM THE
SUNNY ISLES BEACH CIVIC, CULTURAL AND BEAUTIFICATION
TRUST, INC., FOR THE SENATOR GWEN MARGOLIS PARK, LOCATED
AT 178TH DRIVE AND NORTH BAY ROAD; PROVIDING THE CITY
MANAGER WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY
TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is in the process of enhancing its Parks; and
WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Civic, Cultural and Beautification Trust, Inc.
presented the City with an historical artifact of "Horses and Carriage", donated to the Trust by
the Dezer family, for placement in the southeast comer of the Senator Gwen Margolis Park,
located at 178th Drive and North Bay Road, or such other location as may be deemed appropriate
by the City Manager, with a 40" fence surrounding it with no gate, and the horses embedded and
bolted in a slab of concrete 18" thick, covered by mulch; and
WHEREAS, the City exercised its authority to accept donations as a non-profit
municipal corporation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. Accepting the Donation. The City Commission hereby accepts the donation of
historical artifact of "Horses and Carriage" made by the Sunny Isles Beach Civic, Cultural and
Beautification Trust, Inc., for placement in the southeast comer of the Senator Gwen Margolis
Park, located at 178th Drive and North Bay Road, or such other location as may be deemed
appropriate by the City Manager.
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is authorized to do all things
necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.

Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
