A ImSOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPROVING AMENDMENT NO.1 TO CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN
THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AND SPILLIS CANDELA &
PARTNERS, INC., FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICES AS CITY HALL
THRESHOLD INSPECTOR, AND TO DESIGN A GREASE TRAP SYSTEM,
WITH RESPECT TO THE NEW GOVERNMENT CENTER FACILITY
LOCATED AT 18050-18070 COLLINS AVENUE, IN THE AMOUNT OF
FORTY-SIX THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS
($46,860.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; PROVIDING FOR
EXECUTION BY THE MAYOR; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SAID
AMENDMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2002-413, dated January 17,2002, the City Commission
approved an agreement between the City and Spillis Candela and Partners, Inc" for architectural
services with respect to the new Government Center facility located at 18050-18070 Collins Avenue;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 4, Section 4.13, the City requests additional services as City
Hall Threshold Inspector, and also for the design of a grease trap system for Tony Roma's
Restaurant, which is not included in the basic services under the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, Spillis Candela & Partners, Inc., have provided the City with two (2) proposals,
for the additional services described above, in the amount of$42,000.00 and $4,860,00, respectively,
for a total of $46,860,00, bringing the total contract amount to $626,360.00, as set forth in Exhibit
"A", attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the City, being satisfied with the performance and quality of workmanship of
Spillis Candela & Partners, Inc" wishes to contract with Spillis Candela & Partners, Inc" to perform
this additional work.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 , Approval of Amendment No, 1 to Contract: Amendment No, 1 to Contract by and
between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and Spillis Candela & Partners, Inc., for additional services to
be performed as Threshold Inspector in the amount of $42,000.00, and design of the grease trap
system for Tony Roma's Restaurant in the amount of$4,860,OO, for the combined additional fee of
$46,860,00 bringing the total amount of agreement to $626,360,00, for the new Government Center
facility located at 18050-18070 Collins Avenue, on the terms and conditions as more fully set forth

as Exhibit "A", hereto, be, and the same is, hereby approved,
Section 2, Execution by Mayor: The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the proposed
Agreement between the City and Spillis Candela, for architectural services,
Section 3. Authorization of City Manager: The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of the Contract.
Section 4,
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption,

AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN
THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AND SPILLIS CANDELA & PARTNERS, INC.
DATED APRIL 2, 2002
WHEREAS, Spillis Candela & Partners, Inc., were hired by the City as Architect-Engineer to plan,
design, and provide construction administration for the new City Hall as identified by the contract
referenced above, which contract was approved by Resolution No, 2002-413; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 4, Section 4.13, the City requests additional services as City Hall
Threshold Inspector and also the design of a grease trap system for the Tony Roma's Restaurant, not
heretofore included in the Basic Services under this contract; and
WHEREAS, Spillis Candela & Partners, Inc., have provided the City with two (2) proposals, dated
March 24 and March 18, 2003, for the additional services described above, in the total amount of
FORTY-TWO THOUSAND AND NOIlOO DOLLARS ($42,000.00) and FOUR THOUSAND
EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY AND NOIlOO DOLLARS ($4,860.00) respectively; and
WHEREAS, the City, being satisfied with the performance and quality of workmanship of Spillis
Candela & Partners, Inc., wishes to contract with Spillis Candela & Partners, Inc" to perform this
additional work;
NOW THEREFORE, in accordance with the terms of Article 4 and Consultant's proposals in the total
amount of $46,860.00, and the City hereby amends the contract as follows:
1, Additional services to be performed as Threshold Inspector in the amount of $42,000.00 and
design of the grease trap system for the Tony Roma's Restaurant, in the amount of $4,860,00
for the combined additional fees of $46,860.00. Payments to be made monthly as invoiced.
2, The original contract amount is hereby increased by Forty-Six Thousand Eight Hundred
Sixty and No/lOO Dollars to Six Hundred Twenty-Six Thousand Three Hundred Sixty
and NollOO Dollars ($626,360.00).
3. All other terms and conditions ofthe contract remain the same.
