A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF
A NEW COMMUNITY SHUTTLE BUS FROM ATLANTIC BUS SALES,
UNDER A STATE OF FLORIDA GOVERNMENT CONTRACT NO.
FVPP-02-CA-3, IN AN AMOUNT OF EIGHTY THOUSAND TWO-
HUNDRED SIXTY-FOUR DOLLARS ($80,264.00), TO BE PAID FOR
WITH FUNDS PROVIDED TO THE CITY BY THE PEOPLE'S
TRANSPORTATION PLAN 1/2% SURTAX; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to purchase a community shuttle bus
to replace the bus that will be disposed of; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to purchase the Shuttle Bus from Atlantic Bus Sales, under
the State of Florida Government Contract No. FVPP-02-CA-3, in an amount of $80,264.00, to be
paid for with funds provided to the City by the People's Transportation Plan 1/2% Surtax.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section!. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
purchase the Shuttle Bus from Atlantic Bus Sales, under the State of Florida Government
Contract No. FVPP-02-CA-3, in an amount of $80,264.00, to be paid for with funds provided to
the City by the People's Transportation Plan 1/2% Surtax, and do all things necessary to
effectuate the terms of this resolution.
Section 2.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.

Re: APPROVAL OF THE AGREEMENT TO DISPOSE OF SHUTTLE BUS # 9910
REmMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution approving the
consignment agreement between Atlantic Bus Sales and the City to dispose of shuttle bus # 9910.
REASONS:
Shuttle bus# 9910 is antiquated and requires special made parts for repairs. It is in need of being
replaced. As it is well known in the industry for being problematic,it is worth very little as a trade-in
towards the purchase of a replacement bus.
Staff recommends entering into this agreement;as it guarantees a sale within 150 days yet afford the
opportunity to sell it at a higher rate than as a trade-in.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The City purchased Shuttle Bus# 9910 at an auction from MetroTrans,after filing bankruptcy. It is
not now and never was covered under warranty.
