RESOLUTION NO. 2003- t.- OS
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO RETAIN THE SERVICES
OF HOLLAND & KNIGHT AND SPECIFICALLY SUSAN DELE GAL,
ESQ. AS OUTSIDE COUNSEL, SPECIFICALLY TO HANDLE ALL
LITIGATION ARISING FROM THE CHALLENGE OF THE TOWN OF
GOLDEN BEACH TO THE CITY'S LAND DEVELOPMENT
REGULATIONS AND ANY SPECIFIC SITE PLAN APPROVALS
SPECIFICALLY BEING CHALLENGED IN THAT LITIGATION AT AN
HOURLY RATE OF THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($300.00);
AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO EXECUTE A RETAINER
AGREEMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City wishes to retain outside counsel to provide legal representation in
lawsuits filed by the Town of Golden Beach challenging both the City's Land Development
Regulations and specific site plan approvals; and
WHEREAS, Susan Delegal of the Law Firm of Holland & Knight is highly qualified to
represent the City in matters involving the Town of Golden Beach and other related matters.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Appointment. The City Commission hereby approves the
appointment of Susan Delegal of Holland & Knight, as Special counsel at an hourly rate not to
exceed three hundred dollars ($300.00).
Section 2. Authorization to Execute Retainer Agreement. The City Attorney is hereby
authorized to execute a retainer agreement.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution is effective upon adoption
