A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPROVING DESIGN PLANS SUBMITTED BY FLORIDA POWER &
LIGHT FOR THE PROPOSED ELECTRIC SUBSTATION; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, by Resolution 2003-534 adopted April 8, 2003, the City Commission
approved the sale of the property located at 393-401 Sunny Isles Boulevard to Florida Power &
Light; and
WHEREAS, at the time of sale, Florida Power & Light gave notice to the City that it
intends to use the property for a substation to provide electrical service to the City; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the sale agreement, Florida Power & Light is submitting design
plans for the approval by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve the design plans in accordance
with the sale agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Aoproval of Design Plan The City Commission hereby approves the design plans
submitted by Florida Power & Light for the electrical substation on Sunny Isles Boulevard.
Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution is effective upon adoption

Re: Proposed Electric Substation
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the design of
the proposed electric substation.
REASONS
Florida Power and Light has purchased a property known as 393-401 Sunny Isles Blvd from the City
with the intent to use the property for an electrical substation. The design treatment for the exterior
facade of the electrical substation was top priority for the City, due to the property being located at
the entrance to the City. As part of the sales Florida Power and Light is required to submit design
of the substation for approval bythe City Commission.
