A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A
DONATION OF THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED
SEVENTY DOLLARS AND NINETY CENTS ($3,170.90) FROM
COMMISSIONER DANNY IGLESIAS' CAMPAIGN FUND TO
THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH GENERAL FUND;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Commissioner Danny Iglesias was automatically elected, having no
opponents, on September 9, 2003 for a second term as the only qualified candidate for
Commissioner - Seat 3, Southern Area of the City of Sunny Isles Beach; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Iglesias received contributions for his re-election
campaign and he wishes to donate a portion of the unspent campaign funds to the City of
Sunny Isles Beach; and
WHEREAS, ~106.141 (Florida Statutes) allows municipal candidates who
become unopposed to donate unspent campaign funds to the General Fund of the City,
among other things; and
WHEREAS, in his generosity and because he recognizes the benefit these
donated funds may provide in the City's General Fund; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Iglesias wishes to donate the amount of Three
Thousand One Hundred Seventy Dollars and Ninety Cents ($3,170.90) to the General
Fund of the City of Sunny Isles Beach.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1._ Acceptance of Donation. The City Commission hereby accepts a donation
to the General Fund, in the amount of Three Thousand One Hundred Seventy Dollars and
Ninety Cents ($3,170.90), from Commissioner Danny Iglesias' Campaign Fund to be
Used to Offset any Travel Expenses to Promote the City of Sunny Isles Beach.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
do all things necessary to effectuate this resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
