A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, CHANGING THE RATE OF THE
PARKING METERS LOCATED ON NORTH BAY ROAD FROM ONE
DOLLAR ($1.00) PER HOUR TO FIFTY CENTS ($.50) PER HOUR;
AUTHORIZING STROYNE BROTHERS TO CHANGE THE HOURLY
RA TE OF THE PARKING METERS, FOR A TOTAL PROJECT COST
OF FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS ($400.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE
THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has received a request signed by several
residents to consider lowering the hourly rate of the parking meters located on North Bay Road,
from One Dollar ($1.00) to Fifty Cents ($.50) per hour; and
WHEREAS, City Ordinance No. 2003-177, Section 1-12, set the hourly rate for all
parking meters in the City, however, it provides the City Manager with the authority to change
the parking meter rates via resolution, from time to time, Section 1-13; and
WHEREAS, in conjunction with that effort, the City wishes to have Stroyne Brothers,
the City's parking meter services provider, change the hourly rate of the parking meters from
$1.00 to $.50, at a cost of $20.00 per meter (20 meters), for a total project cost of Four Hundred
Dollars ($400.00).
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Change Hourly Parking Meter Rates on North Bay Road. The hourly rate of the
parking meters located on North Bay Road is hereby changed from $1.00 per hour to $.50 per
hour.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to have
Stroyne Brothers change the hourly rate of the parking meters located on North Bay Road, from
$1.00 per hour to $.50 per hour, at a cost of $20.00 per meter for a total amount of $400.00, and
do all things necessary to effectuate the terms of this resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of December, 2003.
