A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE SUNNY ISLES BOULEVARD
TRANSPORTATION STUDY BY THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION (FDOT), DISTRICTWIDE MULTI-MODAL
PLANNING STUDIES, ATTACHED AS EXHIBIT "A"; PROVIDING THE
CITY MANAGER WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach wishes to revitalize and redevelop Sunny Isles
Boulevard as the City's gateway; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation, District Six, Office of Planning, has
assisted the City in evaluating the transportation impacts associated with the desired revitalization
and redevelopment plans ofthe City's "Core" area that surrounds the Sunny Isles Boulevard cOTIidor
in the vicinity of Collins Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation has presented the City with a draft
Sunny Isles Boulevard Transportation Study, attached as Exhibit "A".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Accepting the Draft Studv. The Sunny Isles Boulevard Transportation Study by the
Florida Department of Transportation, District Six, attached as Exhibit "A", is hereby accepted.
Section 2. Authoritv of the Citv Manager. The City Commission hereby provides the City
Manager with the authority to do all things necessary to effectuate this resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED and ADOPTED on this 20th day of February, 2003.
