HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2004-633 RESOLUTION NO. 2004-k33 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING IN CONCEPT THE INCREASE IN RENTAL AMOUNTS FOR THE LEASE OF THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT, SUITE 268 AND THE STORAGE UNIT, SUITE 258 AS ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A" HERETO; AND FURTHER APPROVING THE OPTION TO RENEW THE LEASE FOR CITY HALL, SUITE 250 ON AMENDED TERMS; DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the new city hall for the City will not be complete until the year 2005; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to re-negotiate with R.K. Associates, Ltd., a short- term lease for Suite 268, which currently houses the Building Department; and WHEREAS, the City also desires to re-negotiate with R.K. Associates, Ltd., a short-term lease for Suite 258 currently being used as the City's storage unit; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to exercise its option to renew the base lease for Suite 250, the current location of City Hall on the same terms and conditions as stated in the base lease except as specifically amended with regard to the HV AC systems; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval in Concept of Increased Rents. The City Commission hereby approves in concept the amended fees for the rental of Suite 268, the Building Department and Suite 258, the Storage Unit, as listed on the attached Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof. Section 2. Approval of Option to Renew. The Option to Renew the lease for Suite 250, City Hall, is hereby approved and the City Manager is hereby directed to do all things necessary to effectuate same except that the City Manager is directed to secure and pay for a maintenance contract on the HV AC system for the City Hall provided that any repairs and! or replacements necessary to keep the systems in working order not covered by the maintenance contract shall be the responsibility of the Landlord. The City Manager and City Attorney are directed to do all things necessary to effectuate this approval in concept. Section 4. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
